Introduction:
Behaviour is regulated by neurotransmitters and hormones. Some neurotransmitters are derived from dietary precursors. As diet composition, nutrient availability, and nutrient interactions may affect the availability of these precursors in the brain, behaviour may be affected aswell. Moreover, feelings of satiety and hunger may affect behavioural responses in dogs to everyday events. This may be affected by the type of fibre included in the diet. More interactions between dietary constituents and behaviour are available, but little information is available about effects in dogs. This project will evaluate dietary strategies to influence behaviour in dogs.
