Introduction:
This project is part of the international Chicken Genome Project. The aim is to build basic genomic resources for chicken, as has been done previously for human, mouse, rat and other species.
Results:
Recently, the following resources have been made available: * a whole-genome DNA sequence (see websites NCBI, Ensembl, UCSC) * a whole-genome physical (clone-contig) map (see http://www.animalsciences.nl/ChickFPC) * a SNP resource containing 2.8 million SNPs
