Introduction:
Aim of this project is the isolation of candidate genes from shrimp encoding molecules involved in the defensive reaction upon a viral infection using suppression subtractive hybridisation (SSH). A selection of these genes is used in a cDNA microarray, that will function as a read-out system for the immune status of shrimp after viral infection or subunit vaccination.
